I am a member of Cosplay Lab, Cosplay.com & ACP.
My interest in fashion / costume design was ignited by the early cosplayers of Australia that appeared in the cosplay competition at Manifest 2001. I found it inspiring and decided to have a go at creating my own costumes. Costuming has been one of my most time-consuming, expensive and yet rewarding activities I've be involved with. Nothing gives me quite the same satisfaction as the process of creating a costume from scratch right to the final photographs I receive of them.
Outside of cosplay, I work in both the IT and Entertainment/Media industry. To relax I love playing video games (LANS), designing websites, practice meditation & yoga, photography, go travelling and just go out and have a great time!
While for now cosplay is just a time consuming / expensive hobby, my dream would be eventually take my fashion / cosplaying hobby to a semi-professional/professional level. That could range from doing promotional work, participating in movies / TV or becoming a fashion designer. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure, all I know is that whatever I do, it needs to be exciting, fast paced and extremely creative. If I could combine my three loves, IT, Music and Fashion, I would be in heaven :)
FAQ
For general web site related questions, please visit SuzakuNU's FAQ page.May I use your photos on my website?
Please email me and tell me before you take anything from this website. I think it's important we discuss what you wish to use the photograph for first, incase you get the wrong idea and use it for something I did not expect. Please be sure to give credit to this site and you MUST leave the watermark intact both for my own costume images AND convention images (as all convention images have been taken by either myself or photographers who have given me copyrights on them).
Do you do commissions?
Nope, don't really have the time nor patience, sorry! If you're local and looking for a good seamstress, I reckon Mon from Dorset.
How did you make your wig?
I order my wigs online from various stores, then style, cut, dye, thicken and alter the wig till it matches the character I play to portray. I'd give tips, but really there are 100s of cosplayers out there better than me, I'd only be wasting time creating tutorials. But if are welcome to ask if you have specific question
Are you selling any of your old costumes?
All depends on which costume it is. Some I'm willing to sell, others not, so please contact me if you are interested. If you are interested in the Himemiya Anthy gown, please contact me as I am looking to sell that costume.
Do you have a list of upcoming costumes?
The list changes constantly and a lot, so there isn't much point making it public.
Can I ask you a specific question aboout the construction behind a costume?
You are welcome to ask me any questions related to my costumes, just be aware I might not always have time to respond in great detail. Please try to be as specific as possible, I don't have the patience to explain how to create an entire costumes, just elements of them.
Website
The purpose of this website is to showcase all my costume / fashion related creations. I originally started out as what is known as a cosplayer, however as of late I've started to move towards more original designs, while still incorporating elements from my cosplay designs. Title
Extreme Motion was opened on the 20th of September 2002, and was originally intended to provide information on cosplay, cosplayers and other aspects of this growing industry. However over the years it has developed into my own personal cosplay portfolio, showcasing my own creations and costumes based on animanga and video game characters. The title Extreme Motion, was inspired by two songs that were on my playlist as I created this site. The first being "Motion (ft. Grant Lee Phillips)" by Paul Oakenfold and the second was "Feel the Beat (DJ Thylacine Extreme Mix)" by Darude. "Extreme" represents the burning passion within a true cosplayer, one who takes pride in their creations and art. True be told, one must be quite an "extreme" anime or art fanatic to create such beautiful costumes. The word "Motion" is exactly what cosplay does, it brings the characters literilly to life, or better yet, into "motion".
